The Fundamental Top 500

New Member / Orientation Book

Does your church just expect new members
to become assimilated by accident?

One of the reasons that the back doors of churches are getting more use is that new members and prospects have no understanding of how the church works or what is expected of them.

One of the easiest ways to get new members and prospects to feel apart of the church is by providing them with information about the church.

The New Member / Orientation booklet will help your new members and prospects to know about your church.

This is the first step in getting them to
become active members of your church.

5 Basic Principles to Assimilate New Members

  1. Provide them information about the workings of the church
  2. Provide an intentional system of bringing them into a small group within 1 month of joining.
  3. Provide them the chance to have a role in the church within six months of joining.
  4. Provide them with opportunities for personal spiritual growth.
  5. Provide a time for a personal interview to find out their needs and their possible areas of service.

How the New Member / Orientation booklet helps:

The booklet will help you implement a plan that incorporates the 5 basic principles above by giving your new members and prospects:
  • The understanding of what it means to be a Christian and the reasons for baptism and the Lord's Supper.
  • The importance of being a member.
  • The information to know what is next after membership.
  • Church information such as a directory, calendar of events, committee reports, budget.
  • Church procedural information and policies.

This is one of the ways that Disciple Making Ministry
would like to help your church to grow.
